Are you training hard, eating well, getting regular massages, yet feel like there's a missing piece to your training repertoire?
What if Essential Oils were one of the key ingredients to your athletic success?
These amazing naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds, are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant. To my surprise they have become a gorgeous part of my families life and have fit nicely into our health and athletic tool kit. We use them for an array of reasons, helping clear up coughs and colds, relaxation, stress, boosting immunity, aiding sleep, treating headaches, easing sore muscles, joints and cramps. A top grade essential oil can also be energising and used to flavour food, smoothies and even water. These natural health solutions are an incredible way to reduce the toxic load in our day to day lives.
So what exactly do you do with them? These little bottles of oily goodness are pretty versatile and can be used aromatically, topically and even ingested*. Let me explain…..
Using oils aromatically is as simple as using a diffuser, or placing a drop in your hand, rubbing it together and taking three big deep breathes. You can use them on your skin (mainly with a carrier oil, like fractionated coconut oil) or put them under your tongue, in healthy treats or as a way to flavour water and smoothies without adding any additional sugar!
